C.B. Wentworth has posted an amazing blog titled “Decoding the Novel Synopsis”. I urge all of you to visit her site and read it. All of a sudden it clicked in my head what I’ve been doing wrong. I’ve spent the last hour working on my synopsis and it’s flowing like mad. I know I’ll have to tidy it up, replace boring words and phrases with active, tension-filled text, but the draft is coming together so fast.
Thank you C.B.! Amazing.
I’m no good at writing them so I need this 🙂

As a confirmed Synopsiphobic, any help I get is much appreciated, Jenny.
I’ve missed so many of your posts! Why? I think I signed up using RSS feed versus email.
Lest you think I didn’t appreciate the 11 contest, I intend to answer and post those questions/answers today. Look for a tweet and pingback. They’re headed your way soon.

Jumping over there now. My summary stinks, and I need to write a new one for my upcomming “short” submission, too.

I don’t know what it was about this that kicked my brain into hyperdrive. I knew all of the stuff before. Maybe it was the visual. Hope it works for you.

C. B. has the perfect analogy that seems to work for essays as well as it does for synopses. It is definitely worth the read! 🙂
