Today I’m starting a new post for Fridays. It’s called, “If you could…”
Today’s question:
If you could literally transport into a novel and become part of the main story line, what novel would you choose and why?
I can’t wait to read your answers.
Pride and Prejudice – I’m still looking for my own Mr Darcy ha!

ahh, what woman isn’t. 🙂

Definitely. Meg Cabot’s Abandon. The story of Persephone is my favorite Greek myth. And my own personal dark angel blowing in out of no where to save me and make all my wishes come true? Wow!

Now that would be cool!

I read this on Friday and then got called away before I could comment. I like this new Friday post idea! There are so many stories I’d like to jump into, mostly those involving the past (that’s why I write about it), or fantasy realms, like ‘The Hobbit’. 🙂

What character would you be in the Hobbit or TLOTR trilogy? Elf? Hobbit? Man?, Dwarf?

Probably elf. Gotta love those ears – not to mention Legolas! lol

Can I have another go? I would also like to be in Narnia – either Lucy or Jill in ‘The Silver Chair’.

Definitely Jill.

Ah, so many choices! I would like to be a wizard in Middle Earth and study under Gandalf. He would be very strict, but a great and wise teacher.

To study under Gandalf would be way awesome

Any of the Harry Potter books. I just loved that world so much. But I have to be a witch. I can’t live in the muggle world. 🙂
LikeLike
I agree. I’d have to live as a witch, too.

Jenny, what an excellent question. Drop me into “A Horse and his Boy” by C.S. Lewis and let me travel to Narnia with a talking horse. Now, would be a good time:)

That would be awesome!

That’s one I haven’t read yet. I should as it’s sitting on my son’s bookshelf.

As long as I’m a witch, it’s Harry Potter or as long as I’m an elf, Lord of the Rings.

Sweet. I could handle that, too.

Great idea, Jenny!
The Wizard of Oz. Forget the ruby slippers, I want the wicked witch of the west’s socks. And the horse of many colors. And to live in Emerald City.

Don’t want much do you, Mike? By the way, I think you’d look hot in those socks!! 😉 I wouldn’t mind having the hot air balloon

Harry Potter and Peter Pan b/c I REALLY LOVE MAGIC:-) Fun idea for a post!

Peter Pan would be cool, only if I could be Tinkerbell.

I tried to think of one with a great mideival setting with dragons and stuff, but I landed on Mists of Avalon. Bring on the castles, Knights, and magic!

“The Testament” by John Grisham. I would want to be the daughter who became a missionary in a remote village across the world. She never knew her father but inherited a fortune from him when he died. She refused the money. She lived in a hut just like the people she helped.

Sounds very noble. I’m not sure I would be such a humanitarian. Unfortunately, I don’t think I would fare well living in a 3rd world country (but if things keep going the way they are, we all might be sooner than we’d like).

Wow! I’m getting such great responses!!! Thanks for playing along everyone! 🙂

What a great question. Maybe Brent Weeks Lightbringer series. I’d love to be able to draft colors into objects. Or maybe Terry Goodkind’s sword of truth series…or…so many to pick from.

What a nifty idea. I haven’t read the series. Another one to add to my TBR list.

This is a great idea. Maybe I’d like to be a seagull and fly around with Johnathan 😀

Oh, I’ve forgotten about Johnathan. I LOVED that story. I read it when I was quite young. thank you for reminding me of it.

Hmm… I’d go with the Black Dagger Brotherhood books. If you read about the men I would not have to explain myself! What i am reading from previous comments is, we women are pretty much drawn to fake men in books. 🙂 So to break that – I would love to be in Emma or any Jane book because I love the time and the simplicity. Yes their problems seem huge but in the end it’s all rainbows.

I haven’t heard of these books. I love more titles to check out of the library!

Oh my goodness, love this! Of course, my very first thought was to be dropped right in the middle of Rivendell with Legolas (lol, I am so in love with him!) … or perhaps Camelot, with Lancelot, dancing in the meadow on May Day …. but then again, I can get totally engrossed in the Mists of Avalon, too … floating in the barge, parting the mists … oh, which to choose? 🙂

I can definitely see you in Camelot dancing around the maypole. You would look stunning in one of the gowns.

My go-to answer would be Harry Potter, just cos I love that whole world.
I am, however, in the middle of Walter Scot’s Ivanhoe, and I’m really loving the setting and cast of characters… Might not be the best place to be though, seeing as how it’s set in the 12 century and all :p
Great idea for Friday posts! I look forward to them!

Yes, I loved Ivanhoe but I don’t think I’d want to live during that time. HP, however, would be way cool.
