What do you do when you receive blog awards?

Why, you smile and post them proudly knowing that someone else thought enough of you to nominate you.

Over the last couple of days, I received the Beautiful Blogger Award from the lovely Carrie Rubin and the lovely Butterfly Julz awarded me the Versatile Blogger Award.

Thank you very much, ladies.

I’m supposed to list seven things about me you may not know, so here goes:

I used to own a 1966 Ford Mustang. I should have never sold it.

I have seen the Rocky Horror Picture show in theaters 127 times.

My favorite wine is Martini and Rossi Asti Spumanti

I love anything Chenille.

If I could adopt and care for every stray animal in the world, I would.

I’ve read Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix 11 times (my fave out of the HP books)

I prefer sundresses to shorts any day.

I’m supposed to pick bloggers to hand these awards to, but I’m in a very generous mood this week.  I had a really weird start to the week and all of you came out and rallied behind a friend and me when we were both feeling down and all of you deserve both awards in my opinion.  As writers, we are all versatile. We all have other activities we tend to every day.  Some of us are into scrapbooking, some write poetry, some have family and kids and others are going through their own health issues.  We all lean on each other for support and we all are there for each other through all the ups and downs.  I can’t thank you enough for being the individuals you are and for sharing a part of you with me every day. To me, that makes all of you beautiful.

Enjoy your rewards and show them proudly!  ðŸ™‚

Three awards and a Lucky 7 Meme

It’s late and I’m getting ready to go to bed, but I wanted to post this last bit before I let my head hit the pillow.

In the past 3 days, 3 bloggers and an e-mail buddy honored me with several blog awards.

From C. B. Wentworth, the Versatile Blogger Award (thank you, my dear, for thinking of me.  There are no words to express my gratitude)

From Cara Olden at This Little Light:  The Sunshine Award (Thank you so much for all your kind words and support.  You are a ray of sunshine to me.)

From Claire:  I was tagged with the Lucky 7 Meme – (thank you, my dear, and I answered this on scrib!)  🙂

and

From a lovely friend, Maggie, who follows my blogs but doesn’t have a blog herself, The HUG award.

I don’t know what all is involved with passing on these awards or what I’m supposed to do with them, and I reserve the right to come back to this post and revise accordingly, but I want to thank all of you for your kindheartedness, your belief in me, your praise and just for being you.  I’m sure there are so many others who deserve these awards more than I and I am humbled that you would think of me.

I do want to pass on these awards to the following people/blogs because they deserve it:

The Versatile Blogger Award: (for their versatility in what they post)

Commutinggirl
emmaguinnesswriting
Sonia Medeiros
Writing Wings
Lightning Droplets

The Sunshine Award:  (for filling my life with sunshine – will add more tomorrow)

Girl in the Butterfly dress

HUG Award:  (for their love, compassion, understanding and amazingly wonderful hearts.  I will add to this award after I get some sleep)

Gloria Richard
Cara Olden
Jennifer M. Eaton
Lori Ann Freeland

I can feel the love

The lovely Sharon Howard over at A Day In The Life of  a Busy Gal bestowed the Versatile Blogger Award upon me this morning.  It’s the first time I’ve received this award and I’m honored she thought of me.

Sharon is an inspirational spirit with an ocean of  courage and determination.  I applaud her for tackling the issues before her with her head held high.

The award requires that I (i) list 7 unknown things about me (don’t really like this part because I think of myself as a very boring person), and (ii) give the award to 15 other versatile bloggers.  This one is going to be difficult because I would like to find 15 bloggers I haven’t given any awards to before.

Soooo…

I’ve decided to answer the 7 ‘me’ questions, and then start going through all my new followers who are participating in my contest and award 15 of those new peeps with the Versatile Blogger award.  Maybe one of them will also receive my own blog award:  The Chain  Story Blogger Award.

Happy Writing and good luck to all the participating YA authors (and anyone else who wants to have some fun writing!)

7 things you used to not know about me:

1.  I was 16 years old when I completed my very first novel. It was titled “One Night With You” and was a fictitious love story between me and Elvis Presley during the mid to late ’50s.

2.  Said novel mentioned in #1 was ripped to shreds during an argument.  I never revisited it.

3.  I won 3rd place in a beauty pageant when I was 15 years old.  I still have the trophy.

4.  My first car was a pastel yellow 1966 Ford Mustang.  Pony interior, 302 engine.  I should have never sold it.

5.  I wanted to be a veterinarian all of my life but Chemistry kicked my butt in college.

6.  I have almond-shaped blue eyes and brown hair.  Stop…reverse that.  It sounds like my hair is almond-shaped, too.  🙂  I know, always editing.

7.  I love to glass paint though I have yet to perfect the art.  It’s just fun.
