YASH Has Begun!

Fall 2018 #YASH has begun! And you’re hunting with Team Blue!!

What is #YASH?  It’s a bi-annual event first organized by author Colleen Houck as a way to give readers a chance to gain access to exclusive bonus material from their favorite authors … and a chance to win some awesome books and other prizes! This Fall, there are 140 Young Adult authors divided into seven teams. I’m on Team Blue. Each author on each team has agreed to give away at least one book to the grand prize winner. As a scavenger hunter, you can hunt on as many teams as you want, but you’ll need to play fast. This contest is only open October 2 – 7, 2018. When you visit each author’s site, make sure you look for other chances to win extra prizes as a lot of authors have giveaways going on separately that you don’t want to miss (I have one going on, so make sure you check it out!)

This is my 4th time participating in YASH and I hope you guys have as much fun hunting as I do with this awesome event.

What exactly are you hunting for?  A number.  Each author on the team will have a special number embedded in their post. Add up the number clues for your team, head over to the Rafflecopter giveaway that matches the team color, and enter the number. That’s it. As you read my post, you will see I’ve mentioned the number a few times (just in case you missed it). While I mention it several times, you will only use it once. If you win the grand prize for the team, you’ll get a book from each of the authors on the team.  Only entries with the correct number will qualify to win.

Rules: the contest is open internationally. Prizes must be claimed within 48 hours or the prize will be re-drawn. You must be 16 years or older, or have the permission of a guardian to enter. Duplicate entries will be deleted. To be eligible for the grand prize, you must submit the completed entry form by noon, Pacific Time, October 7, 2018. You must enter to win before then. Good luck and happy hunting! Entries sent without the correct number or without contact information will not be considered.

Want to see all the books involved in this Hunt?  Check out the Goodreads List and start salivating.

I’m super excited to be hosting the awesome Dorothy Dreyer, author of PHOENIX DESCENDING and the second book in the series, PARAGON RISING.

I can’t wait to read this book! PHOENIX DESCENDING was amazing and I can only imagine how good this will be.

So who is this gal, Dorothy Dreyer?

From her Goodreads page:

I’m a Philippine-born American living in Germany with my husband, my two adult children, and two Siberian Huskies.

I am an Amazon category bestselling author who writes young adult and new adult books that usually have some element of magic or the supernatural in them. I also like to read those kinds of books. Aside from reading, I like movies, chocolate, take-out, coffee, traveling, and having fun with my friends and family.

I tend to sing sometimes, too, so keep me away from your Karaoke bars.

And now on to the EXCLUSIVE CONTENT … (yay!)

“For those of you who have read the first book in the series, PHOENIX DESCENDING, you know there are some character illustrations spread out throughout the story. So if you’re expecting more illustrations in PARAGON RISING, you won’t be disappointed. Here are four of the five illustrations you’ll find in the book. If you want to see the fifth one, you’ll just have to buy the book.

Hint: there’s a reason why the fifth illustration is not shown here, as it may spoil the story for you!

Check them out!”

Aren’t those 4 illustrations fantastic!

AND NOW TO CONTINUE THE HUNT

Next author on the list to visit is the super-amazing, talented author, FONDA LEE.

Make sure you spread the word!

Good luck to everyone and happy hunting!!

  1. I love a lot of YA fiction series. One of my favorites which is out of print is the Everworld Chronicles by K.A. Applegate. Great fantasy suspense series.

    1. I’ve wanted to read that series for a while, but its always out at the library. However, another really good series is the Hush, Hush Saga by Becca Fitzpatrick.

  2. thank you for the chance and for participating in the hunt. My favorite YA author is Tamora Pierce and one of my fondest memories is meeting her at NY Comic Con a while back. I was just so super excited. I’ve been reading her for over 25 years at this point.

  3. I love the post-apocalyptic genre so I’m currently hooked on Sarah Lynn Fleming at the moment. I am, however, excited to start on some YA books that I’m interested in YASH soon after. ❤❤

  4. My favorite book ya or otherwise is usually the one right in front of me. I don’t have a favorite, if I’m happy with the current journey the author is sending me on then at that second it’s my favorite because it’s entertaining me.

  5. I hate when people ask me favorite character or favorite book. I don’t have just one! You know, I retired from teaching English two years ago and my mantra was “only adult books”. However, I have found I really miss YA lit … I’m back at it reading like a maniac. After I read, all print copies go to the local middle school or high school.

    1. Yes, Jennifer and I are pretty tight. I beta read Dragon Mount for her and loved the final version. So happy for her! I hope you get a chance to read my books. I really, really like them, especially the final installment in the trilogy that’s coming out November 13. It was fun to write but bittersweet at the same time. 🙂

      1. That’s so nice to hear! Concluding a series is definitely an exciting yet bittersweet time–as a reader, it’s saddening but as a writer it must be even more emotional! Jennifer is definitely an awesome person (she’s amazing–I’ve met her in person actually). I definitely do hope I could read your books in the future! Please let me know if you’d ever like to be on my blog to help out with your book’s release–I enjoy connecting and helping out authors! 🙂

Love your blog, by the way. ❤
