It’s Over

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.” ~ Marcus Tullius Cicero, Roman Statesman, Philosopher, Orator; 58 BC speech before the Roman Senate.

I, along with millions of others, are disheartened today.  I debated writing anything today except to say “I’m glad it’s over”, but I can’t stop there.  I’m writing this on a more personal level as a daughter of a military man who died while serving this country, and more important, as a Christian.

I believe Cicero understood what faces us now.  The enemy within has won.  He has taken the highest seat of power once again and this country will never be the same.  No other president has forced such a wedge between its own people than the current one.  No other president has been less transparent, less truthful.  No other has connected himself with Socialist and Marxist ties as this one.  No other president has paid millions of dollars to conceal his own background.  No other president has moved within our borders with such stealth, spewing vitriol disguised as enlightenment as this one.  The enemy within…the devil himself, some might say…has positioned  himself and his minions to see to it our way of life and our Constitution is forfeited, and replaced not with pride in accomplishment, but in dependency and reward for indolence.  This once great nation will fall, as did Rome, and we will have no one to blame for it but ourselves.

I know from personal experience this wolf in sheep’s clothing has driven not just a wedge within the people of this country, but also in my family.  A Christian  pitted against her two atheist and socialist daughters.  They are proud to say they are atheists and socialists and they hold to their beliefs as firm as I hold to my Bible. The wedge pushed us further apart last night, the ravine widened, and I’m afraid there is no bridge to cross.  Anger and harsh words flew between my oldest and me on social media last night.  I deactivated my Facebook page.  She called me old, and told me I could leave this country if I didn’t like it.  Maybe I should…now that it’s over.

I’m sorry, Daddy.  I’m sorry Sean Smith, Chris Stevens, Ty Woods, Glen Doherty, and millions of other Americans who gave their lives for our freedom.  Most of all, I’m sorry God.  I tried to do what you asked and I failed once again.  Seems as if that’s been the pattern of late.  All I ask is that you please forgive them, for they know not what they’ve done.

Signing off.

  1. I’m writing this through tears.
Jenny… We have a shared pain of heartbreak. I have three granddaughters who have turned their backs on family to follow political promises that won’t and can’t be fulfilled. At this point the Grand Canyon looks like a ditch.

I have found no way to seperate faith and politics, for faith is the basis of my life that I can’t deny… and don’t want to.

My family also has a legacy of military service to this country with loss of life. Our future as a country is worrisome considering the prevailing attitudes.
I will continue to pray for all of us… and now for you by name. Hoping you find peace of heart soon.

  2. Winston Churchill said, when the Nazis were threatening to destroy England, “Never, never, never, never give up!”

    As I commented at Facebook:

I so hate lies, manipulation, false accusations, having grown up with it. I hate those who say “Peace, peace”…when there is no peace! I hate the false siren song that urges love and acceptance while lulling people into inaction and acceptance of lies. I am frustrated by those who say they are Christians but vote for leaders who are against everything God stands for. I mourn that our country has made a choice to elect leaders who do not have integrity. I mourn for the suffering that I believe we will now enter into.

However, I will not grieve as one who has no hope. I am encouraged by the number of people who voted against Obama. I am encouraged by those who are correctly proclaiming that God is still God, that He is still on His throne, that He is still in control. In fact, these things were all foretold, and we were told not to fear. When the dark is darkest, the Light shines brighter. Now is the time for hope in our King, and for courage. Now is the time to stand strong and live faithfully. The Return of the King is near!

I love the following Lord of the Ring scenes, reminding me that though the forces of evil may seem overwhelming, they will not win. May you be inspired also.

  3. Great blog, Jenny. It touched my heart and I felt every emotion that you wrote. Perhaps let go of the political indifferences you share with your daughters and respect their beliefs and love them anyway. Tough to do but it’s not for us to judge or try to change others. God is in control of that. We can only pray for them. Wishing you the best. Please continue to blog. I look forward to what you write. When we do anything out of a place of love, that’s when miracles occur.

  4. Jenny,

My heart goes out to you. Political warfare estranges the closest of loved ones. I pray that, once things settle down a bit, you and your oldest can move past your differences and focus on what is much more important than a victory for the evil one; for that is his goal in everything; to destroy.

I am saddened with you, but I am renewed in Christ, trusting fully in His will and plan. Yes, this is a loss for us today, and perhaps the next four years, for so many americans who remember what a strong and healthy country should look like, but we must not lose hope. More than ever, we must have faith; our complete trust needs to be placed in His hands, and our lament placed at His feet. What helps me to, is to remember that this place, this world, is not my home. Though I wish good things for our country, ultimately I know something far better awaits me once I’ve finished here. The final victory will ALWAYS be His!

    Praying for you!

  5. Praise the Lord and Good Morning Ladies.

I was reading this post which was reblogged by my blogging buddy Naphtali. I do not in anyway want this to come off as if I am bashing anyone and their political stance (as I do believe that as strong as we in our faith and beliefs in God we are just as strong in our political stance).

I just want to say that regardless of who we as a nation put into office the morals of this nation will fall, the economy of this nation will fall … it is all destined to crumble regardless of who is in office. We as a people are only responsible to pick the one who can best beautify the process. I do not think Obama is a devil I do not think that Romney is a devil.

I do not think that it is fair that we place unfair burdens on both men. I say this in response to Jenny, who stated that one daughter is an atheist and the other a socialist. We have to be mindful as children of God where we place blame. I can not blame Obama for my children’s stance politically and spiritually. They would have the same stance even if Romney was to be in office. We have to know that we can go to God in prayer and place that at his feet and have the faith the He, being an all knowing, all wise God can handle and fix any broken situation and have even more faith to say that even if He does not .. then His plan is still perfect. We have to know that the weapons of our warfare are NOT CARNAL … so you cannot say that because Obama is in office my children will stay spiritually stuck.

Being that we also know that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal … we know that no matter who is in office we know God’s will is gong to go forth regardless. Our responsibility according to the BIBLE is to pray for those in authority over us.

Truth is …. Obama has a belief … Romney has a belief and I do not agree with both of them in some areas. I literally had to remove my faith for a moment and see how they both benefit me naturally and make a decision.

Simply because all politicians sing a song of faith but at the end of the day when they have to make the best decision for an entire nation they have to remove personal beliefs and do what fits us as a whole.

I know who is truly Lord over my life … I know that regardless of who is in office my God will still release all of His promises over my life. I know that because of who is in office and what they may place in front of me may present an obstacle, my present some resistance I still know that this will not hinder the move of God over my life.

Many are the plans in a mans heart … but it is the plan of God that will prevail (paraphrased).

Naphtali said she has lost friends and family over her FAITH. If we are losing friends and family to politics then we have to re-evaluate that whole relationship. I still have strong relationships with people regardless of their political stance … I have confidence in my God that no matter what is around me He is mightier. He loved and accepted me even when my stance was against Him and He still saw fit to save me. But through His great patience and Him revealing His truth to me .. I am now His.

But I implore you all … that we look at the bigger picture that we look to God to really solve all of our problems. I implore you to begin to battle spiritually with the real enemy and not look to man and point fingers and unfairly place burdens.

I do pray for your daughters .. that God does open their hearts and their minds and that they truly find salvation … that is free for all regardless of political beliefs and stances. I also pray that you as well find peace and that God restores and heals all that is broken (and I pray this in all of our lives). So stay encouraged Women of God and lets look to the hills where our true help comes from.

    God bless you.

    1. Well said and I thank you for visiting and chiming in. As to my daughters…they were socialists/atheists before this president came into office. An observation I have made in those around me is that those who are lost in/void of faith voted for our current President. I know that is not true across the board but it is what I’ve seen and heard.

In all the Facebook and Twitter chatter, those who supported Obama were atheists. My heart wept when I read a comment that said “I wonder if Mormons can really explain how their God can turn water into wine.” The response was equally disgraceful. Another said “Where is their God now? Probably taking a piss.” Another said, “Boo Hoo, you stupid republicans. Where did your God and guns get you today? When will you realize there is no God. We are in charge of our fate, not some invisible old man in the sky.” Another still, “If God is your savior and protector, have him provide for your food and healthcare and leave your spot on earth open for those who need it.”

The Bible tells us there will be false prophets before His return. It is my humble belief Obama is a false prophet, and it is my duty to God to not deny it and to speak what is in my heart. Our fear of labeling what IS will only serve to destroy us. Eyes must be opened.

You are very wise, and I appreciate your heartfelt comments. I hope you return to visit again. It was a pleasure ‘meeting’ you. God bless.

      1. Thank you Jenny. I have been witness to that type of ignorance as well. I still at the same time seperate faith from politics …. that is their spiritual ignorance … I too pray that their eyes are opened and I am not talking in regards to politics but spiritually!! I think it is pure ignorance to look to those who voted for Romney and make those types of remarks. Us as Children and us as believers just have to rise above that and pray for them! it is disgusting to me that anyone would say that. Leaves me baffled.
If you do not mind my asking do you as well share in the Mormon belief?

          1. oh ok! I just wanted to know! LOL … curious mind. I’m still pondering your previous comment. I think Obama attracts liberals because as we can obviously see … he is more open in his views. So that is when you have people making those comments as if we are now on sides of good and evil … but all the while not realizing Obama got as much votes from christians and catholics thatn Romney.

I personally do not think of Obama as a false prophet. I do not consider Romney as one either. This is why sometimes you got to seperate the two because truth is Romney does believe in Jesus as we do … not as our Lord and Savior .. not God wrapped in the flesh or anything … He came and lived on earth with God and the devil being his brother and he then died, never to rise again (someone correct me if I am wrong). This is just something to think about .. if we really want to begin to call Romney God’s chosen man … so if these to were (lets just say) responsible for the spiritual welfare of this world … we would both be worlds of trouble LOL!! But thank God we trust in His perfect ways and plans 🙂

                1. Ok great, I am going to check the link out! I have been “studying” up more on the religion. I read on one site that alot of people take beliefs and traditions from their prior religion in to the new .. say if we had a new convert to Mormonism(?) .. they would take old beliefs and bring it in to the new one. One thing that blew my mind a few weeks back is a lot of Muslims do this .. if they were once christian or what have you … they will mingle the two religions.

                  Like

                  1. It makes me wonder if at some point they begin to find conflict … I personally do not see how you can mingle to religions together. I would imagine you have to find conflict some where and one of them at some point will have to be dumbed down in order to fit the other. If that makes sense?? :/

                    1. I guess they toss out what they don’t agree with in both faiths, and gel what they do like together. Those who take on Christianity and Islam baffle me the most as Islam teaches that those who do not believe in Allah should perish, at least that’s how I interpret parts of the Koran I’ve read, and the Bible speaks of love for all without hate.

  6. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Jenny. I am quite disappointed that my fellow Americans have bought the lie for another four years. I pray we don’t fall as a nation during that time. As I prayed this morming, “Jesus is my King. I can keep on keeping on.”

  7. May I come in? It was with great hopes I retired for the night, only to waken and find all was for naught. My foremost thoughts are likened to those in the Old Testament when the people TOLD God they wanted a king to rule over them and no more of His prophets. What did God do? He gave them a king. . .the rest is written in the Book. Shalom 🙂

  8. Jenny, I have been walking around this morning having one conversation after another with God. This result is the opposite of many prophesies so i don’t understand what happened. But, I do know God has a reason and purpose and we must trust him. I am so sorry for all you are dealing with; I too have lost family and friends over my faith but God knows we voted his will and he will restore and take care of us. Please see that things are not always as they appear to be. We have to look beyond that which we can physically see to that which is supernatural. God may turn this thing around so shocking to the world only those of us who are tuned in to him will know how it happens. My peace is still intact here and that has to be God because otherwise I would be throwing things. As I wrote the other day, often times God shows up in the midst of when things look and feel the absolute worst; so get ready. The worst just happened. Be blessed dear friend and think about this. Those who voted to re-elect the President, can’t blame Mitt Romney or the Christians for the fall that is going to happen with this administration.

  9. So sorry for all you are dealing with. Just know that we, who voted FOR God’s man and Biblical principals will be blessed. But, more than that, God will need us to pick up those who fall from their own blindness.
