The Hunger Games red carpet premier is tonight. I wish I was there. I have not been this stoked about a movie’s release since The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter series‘s. Sadly, I have to wait with the rest of the world until March 23 to see this awesome story come to life on the big screen. For those of you who haven’t seen the trailers or have seen them but can’t get enough (like me), here they are. Enjoy.
May the odds be ever in your favor.

I’m so excited for this movie! 🙂 Tomorrow while my classes are being snatched by administration, (its like a free day for me), I’m going to hang Hunger Games posters in my classroom’s movie corner. Can’t wait! 🙂

You have a point. The first time I read the Twilight books, I devoured them. Albeit, I wasn’t a writer at the time, and unabashedly infatuated with Edward 🙂 but still, I thought them wonderful. When I went back to read a second time — little over a year later — I found that while they still held a sort of wistful allure, it was not the same as it had once been. Suzanne Collins writes a completely different novel, and it is entirely action driven. I think as long as the movie production company shelled out for effects, they’ll be fine. We already know the actors are incredibly talented (I loved her in X-Men).
Ugh. You have listed all my great peeves and fears. *sigh* Well, I can only hope it won’t be a nightmare and people will be respectful of others, but I guess I shouldn’t plan on it. I will definitely let you know what I thought 🙂

Thanks for putting these up, Jenny. I had only seen 1, so the rest were a treat! Are you by chance going to the midnight showing? My husband and I got finagled into going. As excited as I am to see the movie, I think I could have waited until the following day to see it at a more reasonable hour. All I have to say is it better not be a Twilight disaster all over again! 🙂

I don’t think it will be. The Twilight books were poorly written, though entertaining, so the movies didn’t have much else to go on. The Hunger Games, however, is very well written and full of depth.
We are going to the 6PM show on the 23rd. I went to one Harry Potter screening at midnight and I swore I would never do it again. It was sooo crowded, and while I enjoyed being an old fart in the midst of all the teens, they wouldn’t shut up during the movie. They were talking on cell phones, talking to each other, texting. When I spend that much money on a movie, I want to be able to enjoy it. So, we’re going to do our typical dinner and a movie and have a great time! Good luck with your midnight showing. I want to hear your opinions, okay?

Yeah, you have to click on the ‘watch on youtube’ link on the video. These are the best videos I could find on youtube of the trailers. Sorry about that. 🙂

I haven’t read this book yet. It’s not even in the 30 on my reading list (I need to read what I’ve already bought)
The movie looks great, though.
