A Great Beginning to a New Year

Today was a great day.  Nothing super spectacular happened but it was a fantastic day nonetheless.

I wrote on three of my novels today and wrote 2 short stories, one fiction and one non-fiction.  Now I have to do a few revisions before I start trying to find a home for them.  I made lots of progress on my first novel and I am keeping my fingers crossed I can get this over to my beta readers in the next week or so.  I’ve been saying this for a month or two now, but I keep fine tuning the thing and making it better and better as well as closing up some gaps and hole.

The weather here in Florida is perfect and I think it contributed to my writing frenzy today.  The sun was out, it was breezy and warm…a perfect day to let my mind and imagination take flight.  I still have some revisions I want to do tonight and I’m actually looking forward to working on my new laptop.

I made pork, sauerkraut and dumplings for dinner tonight.  It’s a family tradition for New Year’s day.  I also made my apple dumplings which turned out super-fantastic.  In fact, I’ll post the recipe and pics tomorrow for those of you who want to try them.

I requested seven young adult novels from the library today.  I can’t wait to get my hands on them.

Look for an upcoming interview with Heather Burch, author of The Halflings.  I am really excited about this debut novel by this author and I think you will be too. Check out her website and stay tuned for that interview.

Well, so much for my random post.  Now, I’m going to say goodnight.  Thanks for stopping by to see what I had to say.  It’s one of my resolutions to myself to write something on my blog every day in 2012, even if it’s just to say hello.  I think I got my inspiration to do this from the movie Julie and Julia, which, if you haven’t seen it, you should.  Great little chick flick that I think even guys can enjoy.

Until tomorrow…
