In the Shadow of the Dragon King

  1. I can see teen fantasy lovers adoring this, Jen. There’s a decent market for fantasy in the YA spectrum, and I believe this will find home there with little difficulty. :) Good doing.

  2. Hi Jen,
I think this sounds perfect. I couldn’t find anything that I would change and you know how picky I can be. I can’t imagine the YA crowd not being interested. I’m sure you already have plenty, but I’ll go ahead and say it anyway, “All the very best of luck to you.” You are going to do great things with this.

This looks very polished and to the point, and I think it would generate interest from the target audience. It sounds quite intriguing.

  4. I see in your summary that, once in Estaria, David meets with Knights who are addressed as ‘Sir’.

Now. I have loved the fantasy genre since first discovering it as a child, and I can say that seeing this and other similarities, in a world that exists outside our own, always disappointed me…(Stargate!…once I realised they were in Egypt fercrisake!…I stopped watching)it was always a sharp poke that dragged me out of the story and back to the humdrum reality of this life and its history.

These titles and their accompanying rituals also have an old fashioned…weight?…to them that drag a fantasy story down. I would suggest that, seeing as you have went to the considerable bother of creating an entire universe, that you create your own system of warrior class and the names/ranks that summon them.

    Thanks…

    Barry.

    • I totally agree with you, Barry. In fact, in my extensive re-write I have come up with other titles that I hope will fix this issue. The publisher wanted something that would make my story unique, and I think I have given them that. Thank you for visiting my site and taking the time to leave your comments. They are always welcome from my readers.
